We have a shared pool of over 100 volunteers of all ages with a mix of skills:
Repairers of all kinds of household items such as clothing and fabrics, electricals and electronics, bikes and e-bikes, toys and tech, computers and gadgets, small items of furniture and ornaments.
Helpers to run the Welcome Desk, allocate visitors to repairers, make teas, coffees, etc., a newly added Tech Help Desk for help and advice on all your 'tech', and sometimes a Giving Table.
Musicians to provide live music at each event, usually playing/singing for up to an hour per slot.
Volunteers' Messaging on 2 WhatsApp groups - JRC Events and JRC Social:
Less than a quarter of our volunteers help at each repair café event.
Volunteers can help as much or as little as they wish, whether it's just occasionally at their nearest Repair Café event, or at every event (1 every 3 weeks). There's no commitment at all.
